CLEA (Certificate of Language Engineering Aptitude) is a series of certificates used by the UNDL Foundation to accredit people to work with UNL-driven engines and tools, such as EUGENE and IAN. Each certificate is divided into several different levels, which must be overtaken by candidates in order to be approved. Each level consists of a brief theoretical explanation and some exercises, which are evaluated automatically. CLEA may be pursued at VALERIE, the Virtual Learning Environment for UNL.
Certificates
There are currently 4 CLEA's:
- CLEA250 authorizes the work with UNL-NL dictionaries, i.e., dictionaries where UWs are mapped onto natural language entries
- CLEA500 authorizes the work with NL dictionaries, i.e., dictionaries where natural language entries are treated
- CLEA750 authorizes the work with the morphological modules of the grammar (inflectional paradigms and inflectional rules)
- CLEA1000 authorizes the work with the syntactic and semantic modules of the grammar
Each certificate consists of 20 lessons and 250 exercises, of different levels of complexity.
