UNL+3
From UNL Wiki
The UNL+3 is a three-year (2009-2011) plan for the UNDL Foundation to advance its long-term mission as mandated by the United Nations: to provide the UNL System world-wide for the benefit of all peoples. The plan aims at moving the UNL Programme, started in 1996, to a fully operational level of global scale by the 15th anniversary of the UNL, to be celebrated in 2011.

Components
The UNL+15 is divided into five different main categories, each of them covering specific projects to be coordinated and executed by the UNDL Foundation directly or under its supervision.
- UNL Philosophy & Specs
- The UNL in its essence is a digital language with lexical, syntactic and semantic features as human languages. The Specs define the structure and the linguistic elements of the UNL.
- UNL Resources
- UNL Resources are the natural language and knowledge resources (dictionaries, ontologies, knowledge bases, translation memories, grammars, etc) necessary to translate natural languages into UNL and from UNL into natural languages. These resources will be also used in search, and other applications.
- UNL Engines & Tools
- UNL engines and tools are programming software developed to run translation, search, etc. processes and to assist linguists in producing UNL resources. They differ from UNL applications in that they are not tailored to non-specialists and require expertise in UNL.
- UNL Applications
- UNL applications are application software based in the UNL technology that allow end users to accomplish natural language tasks, such as translating, summarizing, retrieving or extracting information. They differ from UNL tools in that they do not require any expertise or even knowledge on UNL from their users.
- UNL World
- UNL World is the overall strategy for disseminating the knowledge on UNL and for UNL evangelization.
