The UNL Programme is a partnership endeavour. The UNL Language Centres form the backbone of the global R&D network. Up to now, the following 17 institutions have started to work in their respective native language:

  • Arabic: Bibliotheca Alexandrina and The Royal Scientific Society of Jordan;
  • Armenian: Academy of Sciences of Armenia, Yerevan, Armenia;
  • German: Institute for Applied Information Sciences, Saarbrücken, Germany;
  • Chinese: Research Centre of Computer & Microelectronics Industrial Development (CCID), Ministry of Information Industry (MII), People’s Republic of China;
  • French: GETA-CLIPS, Joseph Fourier University, and CNRS, France;
  • Japanese: Tokyo Technological University;
  • English: UNL Centre, Geneva, Switzerland;
  • Hindi: Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India;
  • Indonesian: Directorate for Technology in Informatics and Electronics, Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPP Teknologi), Indonesia;
  • Italian: Institute of Computational Linguistics, Pisa, and CNRS, Italy;
  • Latvian: Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Latvia;
  • Mongolian: Mongolian State Pedagogical University of Mongolia;
  • Portuguese: Instituto UNDL Brasil, Florianopolis, Brazil; and University of Sao Paulo, Sao Carlos, Brazil;
  • Russian: Institute for Information Transmission Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences; and STAR SPB Ltd, Saint Petersburg, Russia;
  • Spanish: Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain;

In addition to the UNL Language Centres, many other individual researchers and R&D groups are interested in working on, and with, the UNL System. These are members of the UNL Society, an open-access virtual community of research created in 1999. To date, the Society has 240 members from 30 countries, with access to the tools necessary for the development of the UNL System.
